The Badge:

The Sheriff's star badge has a long and illustrious history. Until the past 20 years it was worn by the deputies on the Sedgwick County Sheriff's Department. Even though the badge has changed, the mission is still the same: to protect, honor, and serve the citizens of Sedgwick County.

Now is the time for a new direction!

Walt is the Candidate for Sheriff who can lead in the right direction!

•Safety for the citizens, and the Sheriff's Department employees, is the highest priority.

•New approach to fighting crime with renewed cooperation between city, county, and state agencies.

•New look at jail overcrowding without putting unfair pressure on cities within Sedgwick County; including the establishment and use of satellite facilities, along with renewed emphasis on rehabilitation.

•New effort to establish an open and respectful relationship with the entire Sedgwick County Sheriff's Department personnel.

•New working relationship with all Law enforcement Officials and Officers within Sedgwick County.

•It’s a priority to have the Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Department involved and interacting with the community. This method is the most effective way to have knowledge of the community and a good working relationship with the citizens which will aid in getting the upper hand on crime.
